The Cap Project program was a comprehensive, activity based program that aimed to make students understand that they are precious and the importance of living the right way and practise proper diet, take care of their vital organs like the Eye, teeth, their physical and mental growth, have proper diet and various hygiene methods. It was targeted at the students of classes 5th 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th. The seminars were of 40 minutes, during which period students were exposed to the above topics and made them realise the importance of Right Living. This time we were able to take in Marathi schools along with English schools.
To make the training highly effective, interesting and engaging, innovative methodologies such as audio-video sessions of eminent doctors from Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai, ADHS – M, Public Health Dept., Government Of Maharashtra ON MALARIA & VECTOR BORNE DISEASES, The Additional Commissioner – NMMC ON MAJHI VASUNDHARA, question answer time, and role plays, were employed. Such techniques ensure a higher level of retention in students, while giving them practical exposure about importance of Right Living.
During the session, the students were introduced to a 26 page – CAP health booklet, which had eminent doctors not only speaking about the dos and donts for the students but also to the teachers and parents too. The edifying booklet will have a direct impact on the young impressionable minds and will encourage them to practise healthy living as an in-built habit.
Sixty three thousand Nine hundred and twenty Nine students from 55 Schools were benefited from The CAP (Children Are Precious) Project – The Right Living in the NMMC area.
